For a bedroom in this weekend home, the intent was to create an aesthetic that was at once both spare and luxurious. Designed for a keen Japanophile, the space references Japanese design elements like the Shoji screen that ensconces the four-poster bed on one side. The sustainably sourced solid oak bed was custom designed to combine with an existing bay window, framing a view to the lush tropical garden outside.
